Contrast a dogs boundless joy with a song about not feeling the joy of life...

This video features our dogs Turbo and Charlie, my son Max and myself. Turbo is the star. Charlie actually jumped out of the window during filming, yet was rescued unscathed. He has since lost his window privileges. Max did most of the filming and I drove the car.

"I'm Alive" is essentially about my difficulty to consistently have a positive attitude towards life - especially when I'm exhausted. For the video, Max and I grabbed the camera and said the magic word to Turbo, then hopped in the car. I only wish the word "RIDE" would fill me with such boundless joy.

I wrote the song, sang, played guitar and keyboards and Monte McConnell played drums and Rob Richman the bass. The night we recorded this track, we had just returned from a long dinner of sake, beer, sushi, beer and more sake. We captured the magic in one drunken take. I don't typically recommend drunken recording, but in this instance it worked!
I hope this video brings you a moment of joy. All the best.
Matt
